Atul Pathak OBE, Managing Director of the UK’s largest McDonald’s franchise, Appt Corporation, has opened the latest addition to his 37 restaurants in the Lexicon Shopping Centre in Bracknell.
The opening ceremony was conducted by Bracknell’s Mayor Councillor Alvin Finch, who cut the ribbon, and attended by Councillor Paul Bettison OBE, Leader of Bracknell Forest Council, local MP Dr Phillip Lee as well as other councillors (pictured with Atul).
The new restaurant adds to the Appt Corp family and its 3,000 employees spread across London and Berkshire. Since establishing his first franchised restaurant in 2003, Atul has grown Appt Corp substantially and not only ranks as the largest McDonald’s franchise in the country, but also the second largest in Europe.
McDonald’s at the Lexicon marks Appt Corp’s second footprint in Bracknell alongside its other restaurant at The Keep on Wildridings Road. As with Atul’s other restaurants, the Lexicon will be part of Appt Corp’s inclusive programme of professional development identifying and nurturing talent in the workforce with access to its state-of-the-art training facility at its headquarters in Hanwell.
Commenting on the opening, Atul said: “We’re delighted at the attendance and interest shown at the grand opening of our new restaurant in the Lexicon. I’m very grateful to Councillors Finch and Bettison and Phillip Lee for their support. Increasing our presence in Bracknell is a source of great pride to Appt Corp by creating new jobs and contributing to the local economy.
“I very much look forward to seeing local customers visiting the restaurant as we continue to grow in the area. Bracknell really is a great place to do business.”
